Reunion Recap - September 13, 2003

Thanks to all those that came...all 48 of you (plus your guests!). We now have the record for having the highest turnout of returning alumni for a reunion event at The Webb Schools.

11:00am - Registration
Took place at the Alamo Crossroads where we picked up our own personalized name badges (senior class photos were on them) along with a Webb Reunion T-shirt.

11:30am - Alumni Chapel Program
Several Class of '53 member spoke of fellow classmates that have passed away. At the end of the program, representatives from each of the classes read out name of fellow classmates that have passed away. Sam Wray read Tim Kennedy's name during this service.

12:30pm - BBQ Lunch at Price Dining Hall
What can I say...Webb Food but Alumni Weekend Style. The dining room, however, has gotten quite a face lift

1:00pm - Alumni/Student Water Polo Game
This event was sponsored by the Class of 93 (thanks to Jon Kelber for making it all happen). Our guys (Jon Kelber, Chris Harmon, Forrest Beanum, Pat Kouwabunpat and Hank Cho) played on a team against the current varsity team. It was quite a game and brought back quite a few memories sitting by the pool. The varsity shouts of "let's see what you got old man" died down quickly as our guys played a pretty good game with a final score of 9-7.

1:30pm - Varsity Football
Didn't really pay attention to this game...if anything, more Class of 93ers got to reunite. Some kind of game was going on in the background but during halftime, the new scoreboard and some new equipment was inaugurated. The football field with the new track looked really nice. No more slippery gravel for the track team!

4:00pm - Reunion Reception (Poolside)
Among the appetizers and the drinks...the entire Class of 93 finally met up. It was amazing to see so many people from our class all at once. (Throughout the morning little groups had gotten together here and there depending upon when people showed up on campus.)

4:30pm - Class Picture
Flashbacks to our senior class picture...however, we weren't sure whether to look over at our spouses/fiancees/significant others with cameras in hand or the main photographer this time.

5:30pm - Slideshow (Science Lecture Hall)
Forrest and Jon managed to drag everyone away from the food and wine/beer over to the Science Lecture Hall where Tina was ready to show the 10 minute slideshow she had been working on. Everyone collected their 10 Year Reunion Mugs along with a copy of the Class of 93 Info Packet (aka Your Info forms!!!). [See Downloads below]

6:30pm - Alunni Vinter Wine-Tasting Reception (Chandler Field)
More time drinking and socializing as

7:30pm - Perry Awards Dinner (Chandler Field)
There were so many of us, we had to scrambled to find tables for dinner and ended up taking over other alumni tables! Javier (along with three other faculty members) received the Les Perry Award this year. Needless to say, our class gave Javier the recognition he deserved with all our clapping, screaming, and hooting. :) (According to Javier, the other two recipients were a tad bit jealous.)

After dinner is when our reunion really began with wine bottles and conversations flowing...the rest, well, you just had to be there...but pictures speak volumes so check them out.
